Four Schools make up the College of Fine Arts & Communication at East Carolina University. The College was created on July 1, 2003, but has its roots to the beginning of ECU in 1907. The CFAC is the regional mecca of all things art. The School of Theatre and Dance runs productions by the East Carolina Playhouse (student theatre) and the East Carolina Summer Theatre (professional company). The four schools in the College of Fine Art & Communication are: *(School of Art and Design ) *(School of Communication ) *(School of Music ) *(School of Theatre and Dance ) == The School of Art and Design == The School of Art and Design is the biggest art school in North Carolina and one of the largest in the Southeast. It currently has over 700 undergraduates, 50 graduates and 50 faculty members. The SOAD is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1962. It is the only art school in North Carolina and only 220 other art schools has this honor.
